Heck's Mod Reference

Hey Mods! I have a few commands in chat and I realize you all probably need a little direction for what being a mod for Heck's chat should be like. Most of you were quickly drafted if I needed help, or if I just think you're a level headed person who embodies the spirit of what my channel is.

I don't have any real expectations that you DO anything in chat. I don't make enough doing this to pay y'all. It's a volunteer thing, and y'all are just my pals at the party who might encourage guests who are killing the vibe to maybe not say homophobic things or racial slurs. It helps me out a ton!

Main Commands

• !so <username>

  • • Gives a shout out to a user in the chat. We do this for anyone we know who streams. The only time I don't want someone to get a shout out is if they're obviously overly self promote and rude about it. This is so helpful. When I tab out of the game, sometimes the game window drops down, the music stops, etc. It's a lot easier to have a mod do this for me.

• !gs

  • • Will change the OBS (broadcasting software) to the Game Screen. (you can also do !gamescreen) This is in case I forget and you notice the scene hasn't changed.

• !cs

  • • If anything happens and I don't need to be sharing my desktop or game screen (personal info is up, or whatever) you can use this. (you can also use !chatscreen)

• !game <name of game>

  • • If you notice I've not changed my game category, you can type this and, as long as it's listed that way on Twitch, it'll switch the game for me. ('Sims 4' won't work, and 'The Sims 4' will. When in doubt, you can search twitch for it and type that in exactly.)

Information Commands

• !age

  • • If anyone is found to be under18, please use this, then ban them from the stream/discord. Our policy on age is remove them first, ask questions later.

• !mentalhealth

  • • This will display a few resources, including the suicide hotline. We don't shy away from talking about mental health, but we're not healthcare providers. It's a best bet that we guide people where to go if they come into stream/discord posting things that may be disturbing.

• !discord

  • • displays the discord. I don't put it out there anymore, and I won't link it in chat if there's a new person who seems to not vibe super well with the group. (Ask me if you have questions about this. But the general rule is, if they give you a bad feeling in your tummy, don't give the discord link.)

• !socials

  • • This just shares my social media and blog link with folks.

• !friendcodes (!xbox, !ps4, !switch, !steam)

  • • this will list how people can friend me on different game platforms.

Community Expectations

• If a user is back seating (telling me what to do more than a few hints), or talking spoilers, please just kindly ask them to not do that.

• Obviously no racial, homophobic, abelist, etc. chat. Sometimes people tell jokes that are inappropriate. If you think it'll make someone uncomfortable for something they can't help, (obviously ACAB and the like is allowed. Cops can help that.)

• Honestly the rest is gut feelings. If someone is not being respectful and it's a pattern, we don't want them in our community. If they give you weird creepy vibes, let me know. I've removed folks who just make people uncomfortable before. It's a harder line to draw, but I'd rather draw it and move on.
